If ants keep coming back no matter how often you spray the trail, the nest is still active. Ant nest removal goes after the colony itself. We take bookings for nest work across North Lakes and book a nearby independent crew who tracks the trail back, finds the nest and treats it, then checks for smaller satellite nests close by that the main colony has spread into.
Finding a nest can take a bit of detective work. The crew we book watches which way the ants are carrying food, then checks turf, paving joints, garden edging, retaining walls, pot plants and the base of trees for loose soil, small piles of sand or a busy hole. Some colonies nest inside wall cavities or under the slab edge, and the crew treats these through the gaps the ants are using.

Treating the nest directly, along with baits the workers carry underground, is how the whole colony is reached. Nests closest to the house are treated first, since those are usually the ones sending trails inside. One thing to keep in mind in North Lakes: if the mound looks like it could belong to fire ants, do not book us. Suspected fire ants must be reported to Biosecurity Queensland on 13 25 23, and the crew we book does not treat them.
